Rep. Dr. Anna V. Eskamani is a bold advocate for Florida families and the working class, is born and raised in Orlando. In 2018, she made history by flipping her legislative seat and becoming Florida’s first Iranian-American elected official. Known nationally for her advocacy on housing affordability, healthcare access, public education, equality, tax policy, and environmental issues, Anna secured a permanent tax break on children’s diapers and adult incontinence products in 2023 and has passed bipartisan bills focused on children and community safety. Since then, she has been a State House Representative leading with her background in nonprofit management and earned her PhD in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida. She also serves as the Founder and Executive Director of People Power for Florida, a statewide voter registration and engagement nonprofit. Prior to running for office, Anna served as the Senior Director of Public Affairs and Communication at Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida. In addition to her work as a public servant, Anna also continues to work in the nonprofit sector and serves as a Senior Collaborations Manager for NEO Philanthropy. A problem solver with a track record of kind sacrifice, endless hard work, and iron-clad values, Anna is known across the state and nation as a leader who is unbothered, unbossed, and committed to the people of Florida. Now, she is running to be the next Mayor of Orlando to bring bold, people-centered leadership to City Hall, leadership that puts residents over special interests and builds an Orlando where everyone can thrive.

Born and raised in Orlando, Anna Eskamani is a dedicated advocate for working families and a tireless champion for everyday people. The daughter of working-class immigrants who moved to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream, Rep. Dr. Eskamani’s roots in Central Florida run deep. A proud product of Orange County Public Schools, she attended the University of Central Florida, where she earned dual degrees as both an undergraduate and graduate student. Today, she holds a PhD in Public Administration. Prior to her public service, Rep. Dr. Eskamani served as the Senior Director of Public Affairs and Communication at Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida. Today, Rep. Dr. Eskamani also continues to work in the nonprofit sector and serves as a Senior Collaborations Manager for NEO Philanthropy in addition to continuing her commitment to civic life as the Founder and Executive Director of People Power for Florida, a statewide voter registration and engagement nonprofit.
Anna’s leadership is rooted in a track record of deep personal sacrifice and iron-clad values, from using her own salary to help constituents in crisis to championing housing affordability and environmental protection. Having secured overwhelming re-election victories in 2020, 2022, and 2024, she has proven herself as a leader who consistently puts the community’s needs above partisan politics. Whether fighting for public school funding or economic justice, her focus remains steadfastly on the people she represents.
Now, Anna is ready to bring her passion and expertise back to Orlando City Hall. Building on her years of service in the Florida Legislature and in nonprofit spaces, she has officially launched her campaign to become the next Mayor of Orlando in 2027. Her vision for the city is one of bold progress, focusing on solving the local housing crisis, expanding transit, and ensuring that the "City Beautiful" remains a community with opportunity and equity for every resident.
