Representative Dr. Anna V. Eskamani Earns Endorsement of Orange County Classroom Teachers Association in Her Bid for Orlando Mayor
ORLANDO, FL — State Representative Dr. Anna V. Eskamani today announced that her campaign for Mayor of Orlando has been endorsed by the Orange County Classroom Teachers Association (CTA), the union representing thousands of educators and instructional personnel across Orange County Public Schools.
In its endorsement letter, CTA President Clinton McCracken wrote that it was "an honor to share our endorsement" of Eskamani's candidacy, citing her alignment with the organization's mission to put schools, students, and educators first.
"CTA works every day to ensure our schools, students, and educators are prioritized," McCracken wrote. "We advocate for the right to a free, quality public education for all to ensure that all students learn and succeed in a diverse world." He added that the union believes Eskamani shares its goals "to fight to strengthen public schools, improve employees' working conditions, benefits, and salaries, and work to make sure we have the tools and resources needed to ensure student success."
Eskamani — a proud graduate of Orange County Public Schools and the University of Central Florida — welcomed the endorsement and reaffirmed her commitment to the educators who shaped her.
"I am who I am today because of the teachers and public schools of Orange County," said Dr. Eskamani. "As an OCPS student, graduate, and passionate supporter of public education, I know firsthand what a difference a great public education makes, and I know our educators deserve a city that has their backs. As Mayor, I'll fight to make Orlando more affordable for the families and teachers who call it home, and I'll be a relentless partner in the investments our public schools and the people who power them have earned. This endorsement means the world to me, and I'm honored to have CTA in our corner."
The CTA endorsement adds to the growing momentum behind Eskamani's campaign, which has centered on affordability, safety, and transparency for Orlando residents.
