ORLANDO, Fla. — The United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) Local 1625 today announced its endorsement of Dr. Anna V. Eskamani for Mayor of Orlando, citing her People's Platform for Orlando as a vision that reflects the priorities of working families across the region.

UFCW Local 1625 represents more than 14,000 hard-working Floridians across the health care industry, the phosphate industry, wine and spirits distribution, and employees at Walt Disney World.

"On behalf of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1625, which represents more than 14,000 hard-working Floridians in the health care industry, phosphate industry, wine and spirits distribution, as well as employees at Walt Disney World, I am proud to announce our endorsement of Anna Eskamani to become the next Mayor of Orlando," said Ed Chambers, President of UFCW Local 1625. "Her People's Platform for Orlando lays out exactly the kind of ideas our community needs."

Eskamani welcomed the endorsement and thanked the union's members for their support.

"I'm deeply honored to earn the support of UFCW Local 1625 and the more than 14,000 workers they represent," said Eskamani. "These are the people who keep our hospitals running, our visitors welcomed, and our economy moving; and they deserve a city government that fights for them every single day. Together, we'll build an Orlando that works for everyone."

The People's Platform for Orlando outlines Eskamani's vision for a more affordable, accountable, and inclusive city; one that puts working families, not special interests, at the center of every decision.

The endorsement adds to growing momentum behind Eskamani's campaign as the race for Mayor of Orlando continues.
