Over 200 Volunteers Join Representative Dr. Anna V. Eskamani for Historic Mayoral Canvass Kickoff

Community leaders and grassroots energy power major momentum in Orlando mayoral race

Orlando, FL — In a powerful display of grassroots energy and community unity, more than 200 volunteers joined State Representative Dr. Anna V. Eskamani on Saturday for her first Mayoral Canvass Kickoff. The event marked a historic moment in Orlando’s first open mayoral race in 25 years, as volunteers knocked on nearly 1,700 doors across the City Beautiful.

Elected officials and local leaders including State Senator Carlos Guillermo Smith, State Representative LaVon Bracy Davis, Orange County School Board Member Stephanie Vanos, Circuit 9 Public Defender Melissa Vickers, and State House Candidate Rashon Young joined Eskamani to rally the crowd and hit the pavement. The event also featured a special video message of support from Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost.

“This kickoff is a reflection of the broad, diverse, and people-powered movement we are building together,” said Eskamani. “We’re not waiting for change — we’re knocking on doors and making it happen.”

Supporters canvassed neighborhoods to connect with voters about the future of Orlando, encourage participation in the Shape Orlando’s Future Survey, and help residents renew their vote-by-mail requests. The campaign emphasized accessibility, inclusion, and the importance of every conversation in shaping a city that works for all.

This event kicks off a summer of canvasses across Orlando as momentum builds. To get involved or sign up for upcoming canvassing events, visit https://www.mobilize.us/annafororlando.
