Equality Florida Endorses Representative Dr. Anna V. Eskamani for Mayor of Orlando

Orlando, FL — Today, Equality Florida Action PAC, the state’s largest LGBTQ civil rights organization, proudly announced its endorsement of Rep. Anna V. Eskamani in her campaign for Mayor of Orlando.

Rep. Eskamani has long been a champion for LGBTQ rights, consistently showing up as both an advocate and an accomplice to the queer and trans communities in Florida. From repealing harmful laws to securing and helping to raise historic funding for victims and families of the Pulse Nightclub tragedy, her track record speaks for itself.

“When Rep. Eskamani launched her first campaign for elected office, she promised to be not just an ally but an accomplice to the LGBTQ community in the Florida Capitol,” said Equality Florida Senior Political Director Joe Saunders. “Today’s endorsement is a reflection of a promise made and a promise kept. In her seven years serving in the Florida House, there have been few voices as clear on the moral imperative to protect LGBTQ rights and freedoms than Rep. Anna V. Eskamani. She’s sponsored bills, like the ‘Florida Healthcare Freedom Act’, to repeal discriminatory laws. She’s been in the trenches with us working to kill and erode attacks like the ‘Don’t Say Gay or Trans’ law. She’s won historic funding for victims and families of the tragedy at Pulse Nightclub and she’s shown up over and over in solidarity with our diverse community. An Orlando led by Mayor Anna V.
