Dr. Anna V. Eskamani’s Statement on Tonight’s Orlando Election Results

Orlando, FL: Tonight, Representative Dr. Anna V. Eskamani’s endorsed candidates in the City of Orlando elections performed incredibly well, with Tom Keen outright winning and beating an incumbent City Commissioner, and Mira Tanna advancing to a runoff as a close second in a crowded race, being substantially outspent by her primary opponent. Eskamani’s team knocked on thousands of doors, helped to raise thousands of grassroots dollars, and helped to get out the vote.

Below is Representative Dr. Anna V. Eskamani’s statement in response to this local election night news:

“Thrilled to congratulate our newest Orlando City Commissioner, Tom Keen, on his major election win to represent District 1! A dedicated public servant and veteran who will bring thoughtful leadership and a deep commitment to our community. I’m also incredibly proud of Mira Tanna, who is advancing to a December runoff in District 3. Mira’s grassroots energy, compassion, and vision for a more inclusive, thriving Orlando are precisely what our city needs, and Team Anna is all in to help finish strong! Both of their campaigns centered on affordability, transit, public safety, and ensuring that the people of Orlando are prioritized over all other special interests. Additionally, I would like to congratulate Commissioner Shan Rose on her re-election. Her continued service and community-centered leadership are a win for our residents.

Orlando is at its best when we uplift leaders who center people, equity, and progress — and today is a great day for the City Beautiful. Let’s keep building a future where every neighborhood thrives!”
